[ Theon was never the type of person to feel any kind of regret, and Robb doesn't know why he expects that from it now. His voice is just as arrogant as ever, empty of remorse, and Robb just doesn't -- understand. Theon had been everything to him, his friend and his confidante, his brother, his sentinel, and more than all of that sometimes, and Robb had given him everything he could.

Maybe it just hadn't been enough. Or Theon had lied from the beginning.

( But he couldn't have, that stubborn voice at the back of his mind keeps saying. It couldn't have been a lie, he'd never hurt me, not after everything, not when it all felt so real. ) ]
